Real life moment going into Chapter 17

I'm at a slight standstill in my book. My main character learns how to fire a gun and I have no idea how to describe it. That said, yes....I'm gonna learn how to fire a gun with the help of a friend. Excited and scared all at the same time, love that feeling though!
